NEWS Fashola, oth­ers for IoD fo­rum in La­gos to­day

The Min­is­ter of Power, Works and Hous­ing, Mr Ba­batunde Fashola, will ad­dress the chal­lenges fac­ing in­fra­struc­ture de­vel­op­ment in Nige­ria as the spe­cial guest of hon­our at the ad­vo­cacy roundtable fo­rum of the In­sti­tute of Di­rec­tors (IoD) Nige­ria in La­gos to­day.

A state­ment by the di­rec­tor-gen­eral, Mr Dele Alimi, said the fo­rum will ex­plore part­ner­ship op­por­tu­ni­ties be­tween the pri­vate sec­tor and govern­ment to­wards fill­ing the yawn­ing in­fras­truc­tural gap con­fronting the na­tion as well as to pro­vide a ver­i­ta­ble plat­form of net­work­ing op­por­tu­ni­ties for pol­icy and de­ci­sion mak­ers.

Alimi, who iden­ti­fied the theme of the fo­rum as ‘Fill­ing the In­fra­struc­ture Gap’, said Mr Adekunle Ab­dul­razaq Oyin­loye, the Man­ag­ing Di­rec­tor of In­fra­struc­ture Bank Plc will be the key­note speaker. Among the other speak­ers are Mr An­drew Neville, part­ner, Price­wa­ter­house­Coop­ers (PwC); Mrs Funke Osi­bodu, man­ag­ing di­rec­tor, Benin Elec­tric­ity Distri­bu­tion Plc.

Chair­man of the in­sti­tute’s Re­search and Ad­vo­cacy Com­mit­tee, Prince Dapo Adel­e­gan, said the theme was ne­ces­si­tated by the ris­ing need for the Fed­eral Govern­ment to ad­dress the ever-widen­ing gap in the pro­vi­sion of ba­sic in­fras­truc­tural ameni­ties in both the ru­ral and busi­ness cen­tres in Nige­ria.
