The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola, will address the challenges facing infrastructure development in Nigeria as the special guest of honour at the advocacy roundtable forum of the Institute of Directors (IoD) Nigeria in Lagos today.
A statement by the director-general, Mr Dele Alimi, said the forum will explore partnership opportunities between the private sector and government towards filling the yawning infrastructural gap confronting the nation as well as to provide a veritable platform of networking opportunities for policy and decision makers.
Alimi, who identified the theme of the forum as ‘Filling the Infrastructure Gap’, said Mr Adekunle Abdulrazaq Oyinloye, the Managing Director of Infrastructure Bank Plc will be the keynote speaker. Among the other speakers are Mr Andrew Neville, partner, PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC); Mrs Funke Osibodu, managing director, Benin Electricity Distribution Plc.
Chairman of the institute’s Research and Advocacy Committee, Prince Dapo Adelegan, said the theme was necessitated by the rising need for the Federal Government to address the ever-widening gap in the provision of basic infrastructural amenities in both the rural and business centres in Nigeria.
