‘World bicycle day will revive Nigeria cycling culture’

Massari in a press statement issued on yesterday said, the UN has declared June 3rd as World Bicycle Day to encourage relevant stakeholders to advocate for mobility system that make cycling a safe and reliable means of transport and promote awareness for the public to take up cycling instead of cars within cities.
He said the federation United Nations Bicycle Day will resuscitate the of cycling in and improve living, Massari, Cycling Nigeria that in collaboration with the Federation Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and other stakeholders would mark the day with mass cycling rally in Abuja on June 4th and 5th, because the actual day, June 3rd falls on Sunday.
“Nigeria will join the rest of the world on the set days to mark the UN World Bicycle Day to draw attention of decision makers to include bicycle in international, regional, national and subnational cross-cutting development strategy, policies, budgeting and programs.”
One of the CFN board member, Engr. Emmanuel John said, the event will be marked in all states of the Federation as collaboration between FRSC and CFN while listing activities lineup for the 2-day events in Abuja to include; mass cycling rally commencing from FRSC Headquarter, Wuse Zone 3 to Federal Secretariat where the Minister of Health, Prof Isaac Adewole, will receive participants.
