Cleric tasks government on insecurity

Ustaz Huseyn Zakariya has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to take proactive measures to stop incessant killings across the country.

Ustaz Zakariya made the call at the closing of this year’s Ramadan Tafseer at Uthman Bin Affan Islamic Centre, in Abuja, yesterday.

“These armed men are killing people every day in Banue, Zamfara and Kaduna states. Talking alone is not enough. Government should rise up and tackle this insecurity. Therefore, we are calling on Mr President to use his powers and stop the killings,” the cleric said.

While commending efforts President Buhari to improve by the economy, Ustaz Zakariya said if the killings were not checked it would affect the socio-economic developmen­t of the country. The Chairman, Management Committee of the Mosque, Sani Baba said the Mosque committee has provided foods and drinks to the needy during Ramadan in the FCT and its environs.

He said the propagatio­n committee also converted over 800 people to Islam in Birnin Amina village of Niger State. He said the committee also converted another 700 people to Islam in various villages in the FCT.

The Chief Imam of the Mosque, Ustaz Abduljalil Dabo called on Muslims to follow the teaching of the holy Qur’an and the tradition of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) for their benefit.
