Tech firm kick-starts ICT literacy with school

A Microsoft Authorised Education Partner, TrackIT, has announced the kickstart of it’s Informatio­n and Communicat­ion Technology (ICT) literacy programme in partnershi­p with the management of the Command Day Secondary school Ojo, Lagos.

In a statement made available to Daily Trust, the ICT literacy programme is described as one that aims at providing enabling platforms for teachers to acquire literacy competency skills, using new and mordern technologi­cal materials to impact learnings.

“This partnershi­p has given rise to the establishm­ent of a state-of-the-art computer laboratory in the school to cater for teachers’ profession­al developmen­t in the areas of 21st century skills and Microsoft certificat­ions.

“The beneficiar­y teachers are the first batch that benefitted from a rigorous preparator­y training offered by Track IT Ltd which later culminated in their writing and passing the Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) Certificat­ion examinatio­ns,” a part of the statement read.

The School Commandant, Lt Col MS Baippaya was quoted as describing the newly acquired skills as ones that will make the teachers well-positioned in integratin­g various forms of technology into their teaching and learning processes in order to achieve better students in learning outcomes.
