President Muhammadu Buhari is expected to sign the Petroleum Industry Governance Bill (PIGB) into law in a couple of days, the Chief Whip of the House of Representatives and Chairman of the Ad hoc Committee on the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB), Alhassan Doguwa said yesterday.

Doguwa said this at a Colloquium on the Petroleum Host and Impacted Community Development Bill (PHICDB) in Abuja organized by Order Paper Advocacy Initiative.

The Host Community (HOSTCOM) Colloquium brought together stakeholders in impacted communities in the northern parts of the country with the objective to aggregate the positions of the region on general industry reforms, as they relate specifically to the PHICDB.

Doguwa said the lawmakers as well as Nigerians expect a assent to the bill by the President as enough consultations were made to seek inputs of all stakeholders including the President himself.
