NIGCOMSAT not for sale, FG says
The Federal Government said it has no intention to sell the Nigeria Communications Satellite (NIGCOMSAT) Ltd.
The Board Chairman, NIGCOMSAT Ltd, Dr George Moghalu made this known when the board paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Communications Adebayo Shittu in Abuja.
Dr Moghalu however challenged the management and staff of the company to brace up to the challenge of funding the company, saying very soon, the federal government funding would not be available and NIGCOMSAT would have to survive on its own.
He said the responsibility to that NIGCOMSAT Ltd survives independent entity falls on all company.
‘‘We are here to enquire as to what must be done to change the prognosis and ensure as an in the improve the outcomes for NIGCOMSAT Ltd. We are here to develop a program of short, medium and long-term objectives that if executed with panache and dedication, will allow this company to triumphantly emerge from this period of regulatory and economic turmoil, unscathed and better positioned to create new opportunities for commercial success even whilst taking advantage of the opportunities that already exist,’’ he said.
