CAN dissolves trust fund trustees
The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) said it has dissolved the Trustees of CAN Trust Fund, urging Nigerians, especially Christians not to associate with anybody as related to the Fund.
The National Director, Legal and Public Affairs of CAN, Kwamkur Samuel Vondip, said yesterday in a statement that the National Executive Committee (NEC) of the association decided to dissolve the trustees on July 13, based on divided interest.
The statement said the decision was in the interest of the affected Christians, who are supposed to benefit from the money generated from the trust fund.
“The attention of CAN has been drawn to a publication emanating from Christian Social Movement of Nigeria (CSMN) signed by Pastor Emmanuel Bosun, the CAN Trust Fund Secretary requesting for financial donations from the general Public particularly Christians both home and abroad into an account unknown to CAN.
“As a result of the above, the Secretary of CAN Trust Fund, Pastor Bosun Emmanuel is no longer representing CAN on the issue of CAN Trust Fund and therefore cannot solicit for funds for CAN. Equally, CAN is not connected with Christian Social Movement of Nigeria (CSMN) the organization established by the NCEF or any other organization under which Pastor Emmanuel Bosun may be soliciting for funds,” Vondip said.
He said a new trustee for CAN Trust Fund was being constituted and that the association would soon announce the new members and secretary of CAN Trust Fund to the general public.
