- By Olayemi John-Mensah

A foundation, Victor Imagoro, has donated some relief materials and offered medical services to Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) in Durumi area of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

The CEO of the foundation, Victor Imagoro, said the gesture became necessary following the hard times displaced persons were passing through in feeding themselves and accessing health care services.

“We are here to contribute our quota in reducing their plight and ensuring that they have a sense of belonging. At a time like this, what matters most now to Nigerians is to vote for credible leaders that will ensure these displaced persons are returned home to a better livelihood. While they are still here, I call on well-meaning Nigerians to donate generously to better the lives and living conditions of the displaced persons,” he said.

Imagoro also urged the Federal Government to intensify effort in ensuring that the IDPs return to their original homes as soon as possible.

The coordinator, Durumi IDP camp, Ibrahim Idris, commended the humanitarian act carried out by the foundation, saying it would go a long way in aiding their welfare.

One of the displaced persons, Aisha Bello, expressed joy over the materials she got and the medical service she accessed.

“For a long time now we haven’t experienced medical assistance, so for today we were tested and given medication which has made everyone happy,” she said.
