The Super Falcons’ coach, Thomas Dennerby has expressed his confidence of leading the team to glory during next month’s Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCON) in Ghana.

Speaking to Daily Trust yesterday, the Swedish tactician stated that his team will not underestimate any of their opponents while following their plans for the tournament.

“I think we have a good chance to come to the semifinals. And if we perform well, we also have a good chance to go all the way. But we have to follow our plan and not underestimate any of our opponents,” he said.

Dennerby, who described the group as interesting, added that he knows most of the opposing teams and would marshal out plans to tackle them.

“It’s an interesting group. I have seen South Africa play so I have a good picture of that team. They are in great shape. I don’t know much about Zambia and Kenya honestly but they are good teams.

“We’ll find out and analyze them very soon but of course we have a good chance to qualify from our group,” Dennerby assured.

He also said the camping exercise where he had invited a total of 29 home-based and 19 foreign-based players is going on well without hitches.

The Eight-time champions, Nigeria will be looking to defend their title against Kenya, South Africa and Zambia in Group B.

The Super Falcons will open their campaign on 18 November against South Africa in Cape Coast before tackling Zambia at the same venue three days later.

Nigeria will complete their group phase matches with their clash with Kenya on 24 November.

The top two sides groups will progress semi-finals.

This year’s competition, to be held in the West African country for the first time, also serves as the African qualifiers for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The top three teams will qualify for the World Cup to be held in France in June next year. in to the the
