Ra­dio­g­ra­phers want to head own units in pub­lic hos­pi­tals

The As­so­ci­a­tion of Ra­dio­g­ra­phers of Nige­ria (ARN) has called on the fed­eral govern­ment to rec­og­nize the au­ton­omy of ra­di­og­ra­phy and al­low ra­dio­g­ra­phers to head their units in govern­ment hos­pi­tals and in­sti­tu­tions.

The Fed­eral Cap­i­tal Ter­ri­tory (FCT) Chair­man of the As­so­ci­a­tion of Ra­dio­g­ra­phers, Ngwu Em­manuel, made the call yes­ter­day dur­ing the cel­e­bra­tion of the an­nual World Ra­di­og­ra­phy Day in Abuja.

He called for in­crease fund­ing for ra­di­og­ra­phy and imag­ing fa­cil­i­ties in the coun­try to en­sure that more Mag­netic Res­o­nance Imag­ing (MRI) ma­chines, CT Scan, and ra­dio­ther­apy ma­chines were pur­chased and main­tained.

Regis­trar of the Ra­dio­g­ra­phers Reg­is­tra­tion Board of Nige­ria (RRBN) Dr Mark Okeji called for more fund­ing for ra­di­og­ra­phy prac­tice in the coun­try.
