Con­joined twins: UniAbuja hospi­tal lauded for suc­cess­ful surgery

The fa­ther of sep­a­rated con­joined twins, Mr. Fer­di­nand Ozugwe, has com­mended the man­age­ment of the Uni­ver­sity of Abuja Teach­ing Hospi­tal (UATH), Gwag­wal­ada, for the suc­cess­ful surgery on his chil­dren.

Ozugwe, an un­em­ployed youth from Delta State, made the com­men­da­tion shortly af­ter the twins were dis­charged by the hospi­tal on Wed­nes­day.

The Chief Med­i­cal Di­rec­tor (CMD) of UATH, Dr Bisal­lah Ekele, said the ba­bies were sta­ble and in good con­di­tion.

Ac­cord­ing to him, the surgery was car­ried out by two teams of pe­di­atric sur­geons, a team of plas­tic sur­geons, two teams of anes­thetic and spe­cial­ist nurses.

Ozugwe, how­ever, called on the govern­ment and well-mean­ing Nige­ri­ans to pro­vide him and his wife with a job to en­able them bring up the twins.
