Like us on follow us on Twitter: A 22-year-old man arrested by the police for allegedly disguising as a woman to lure men at nightclubs in Abuja has said he is not gay.
Iliyasu Omika, a native of Kogi State but resident of Tungan Maje in the FCT, was among 15 suspects paraded by the FCT Police Command on Wednesday for allegedly luring men at nightclubs into amorous relationships while disguised as a lady.
Police said he was arrested at a brothel in Mpape on November 5 around 5am “after his supposed client raised alarm upon discovery that he was actually a man and not a woman as he claimed.”
However, while fielding questions from journalists, Omika said he is not a sex worker neither is he a gay. He said he dressed as a woman because he had come to Abuja to act a movie where he was casted as a lady.
Narrating how he was arrested, Omika said he was with a man that had promised to give him N3,000 to return back to his village after they finished the movie they came to act. “I have slept off and the man started touching my (point at his private part) and when he noticed I was a man, he called the police and I was arrested.” Two students of Benue State University (BSU) in Makurdi have been killed in an alleged clash between rival cult groups.
Spokesman for Benue police command, Moses Joel Yamu, who confirmed the incident yesterday, said one person had been arrested in connection with the crime.
“Acting on a report that one Oketa Simon, a 300 level Mass Communication undergraduate of Benue State University was shot dead on Tuesday in a farm opposite Rahama Clinic Logo II Makurdi, the police arrested one Samuel Ochoechi, 18, a non-student over the crime.
“The suspect during investigation, confessed to have conspired with three others namely; Bem Uper aka Movement, Viper and Chemical (real names not known), all members of the Red Confraternity and killed the deceased who is said to be a member of the Black Confraternity over a missing Jeans trouser,” he said.
Yamu said while effort was ongoing to arrest his accomplices, the said Bem Uper, a 400 level Theatre Arts student of same university was hacked by rival cult group in retaliation on Wednesday beside Kyabiz Filling Station opposite the university’s second gate.
The police spokesman said effort was on to arrest and prosecute all those involved in both killings.
