Terrorism: Security experts urge FG to adopt digital technology
Security experts have urged the federal government to adopt digital technology in the fight against terrorism.
The Chief Executive Officer of Gwan Ventures Limited, Brig. General Danladi Nandul (rtd) said despite several methods adopted by the military, insurgency is still prevalent in some places calling for different approach using digital integrated security systems.
Nandul spoke at a seminar organised by the organisation in partnership with PS Diffusion to sensitise Nigerians of the company’s security system in Abuja yesterday.
He said Nigeria is inundated with security challenges and threats so much that there is so much uncertainty which has also affected the economy adding that “The surest way to combat this threat is via digital technology.”
He said the company is fully positioned to ensure that Nigeria achieve digital economy via its integrated digital security system.
The director of PS Diffusion in France, Olivier Danguin said the technology is an evolution and integration of surveillance technologies adding that the company integrated video, alarm, security intervention and other safety mechanisms to create a world class system that can be adapted in several situations.
The company’s director of engineering, Michael Joseph said the technology could be deployed to curb terrorism, hostage taking, kidnapping robbery monitoring of accidents, flood and agricultural development.
