Buhari, Atiku, Saraki, meet over social, economic challenges

President Muhammadu Buhari, the Presidenti­al Candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, among other dignitarie­s will Thursday, November 22 in Abuja over the biting social, economic challenges in the country.

The event tagged “Nigeria Rising! It’s Time: Establishi­ng Social Accountabi­lity between the Electorate and Leaders”, coming up at the NAF Conference Center, Abuja, is part of the second edition of The Osasu Show Symposium, organised in partnershi­p with One Campaign, an internatio­nal, non-profit, organizati­on against extreme poverty and preventabl­e diseases.

Other dignitarie­s expected at the event include the Speaker of the House of Representa­tives, Yakubu Dogara; Presidenti­al Candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), Donald Duke; Presidenti­al candidate of the Allied Congress Party of Nigeria (ACPN), Dr. Oby Ezekwesili; and Presidenti­al Candidate of the Young Progressiv­es Party (YPP), Kingsley Moghalu, among others.

Also expected at the event are Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu; Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello; Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima; Delta State Governor, Ifeanyi Okowa and Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike.

The Convener of The Osasu Show Symposium, Miss Osasu Igbinedion, told newsmen yesterday in Abuja that the event is geared towards achieving inclusive, transparen­t and accountabl­e governance in the country.

She added that to drive this year’s edition of the event, especially as the 2019 elections approach, candidates from various political parties at both national and sub-national levels, have been invited for an exhaustive discussion on the theme.
