Entrepreneurs urged to brace up for challenges

- By Victoria Onehi

The convener of the talk show, Timeout with Halima, Halima Oyelade, has urged entrepreneurs not to allow challenges deter them from attaining their goals.

She was speaking at the third edition of the show held recently at the AEA complex in Abuja.

“We all have stories and things happen that alter our stories and want to stop us from actualising our dreams. We get stuck and afraid to move on, but the simple message is that no matter what has happened, you can begin from that point and move further. It is possible to achieve success and still be significant; it is possible to live that dream and have that story that is unique,” she said.

One of the participants, Deborah Membene, said she learnt to make something beautiful from an ugly incident and also to stretch out to fulfill her goals.

The Managing Director of Abuja Enterprise Agency (AEA), Mal. Muhammed Arabi Tukur, told entrepreneurs at the event that the agency has further reduced business name registration to N2,500 for MSMEs that register at the MSMEs One-stop shop at the AEA.

“The reason we further reduced the cost of registration for MSMEs is because we realized that some of the MSMEs may not have the financial capacity to bring out N5000, and if we really want to achieve the vision of the government on the Ease of Doing business, we must ensure that other incentives are given out.

“They will pay N2,500 and AEA will pay the remaining N2,500. This is for MSMEs in the FCT. N5000 is still going to the CAC,” Tukur said.
