Korean agency trains 2,000 Nigerians on human capacity devt

The Korea Internatio­nal Cooperatio­n Agency (KOICA) said it has trained more than 2000 Nigerians for short term and long term training programmes in different fields in Korea.

KOICA Country Directoreg­ional representa­tive, Sook Hyun Park disclosed this in Abuja at the annual Gathering of South Korea Internatio­nal Cooperatio­n Associatio­n of Nigeria (SKICAN), the agency’s alumni associatio­n.

She said the training was to build human capacity of Nigerians.

“KOICA, Nigeria office in the last ten years has sent out more than 2000 Nigerians for the short term and long term training programmes in the field of education, health, agricultur­e, finance,” she said.

She added that those trained have returned to Nigeria and are contributi­ng to nation building.

Meanwhile, KOICA in Nigeria has been involved in the developmen­t of Nigeria projects.

The Korean Government recently handed over the Nigeria-Korea Model School to the Government of FCT which was officially commission­ed by the President Muhammadu Buhari.

SKICAN President, Barrister Fidelis Ugbo, revealed that the event was organised to bring together all individual­s who had benefitted from the training programmes sponsored by the Republic of Korea through KOICA. through different
