‘Ambode won’t leave behind uncompleted projects’
The Lagos State Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Adebowale Akinsanya, has assured residents of the state that the Governor Akinwunmi Ambode administration will not leave uncompleted any of the major projects it is working on.
Akinsanya gave the assurance after embarking on an inspection tour of some of the ongoing projects in the state.
The Commissioner, in a statement issued by the ministry’s Deputy Director, Public Affairs, Sina Thorpe, said the government was not oblivious of the difficulties being experienced by motorists in the state but that concerted efforts were on to seriously bring them under control.
He said with the rains subsiding, Lagos residents should expect increased pace of work from contractors handling various projects, adding that Gov Ambode was committed to the delivery of the projects.
“I have just inspected the progress of work on Airport Road, Pen Cinema flyover, Oshodi Transport Interchange, Onikan Stadium, Oshodi-Abule-Egba Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project and JK Randle Centre For Yoruba Culture and History.
“The inspection tour is at the instance of Gov Ambode, who has given contractors handling various projects across the state marching orders to expedite work. With the rains subsiding, the state government is leaving no stone unturned to rev up the projects and bring the truly deserved comfort to the people, as well as improve on the aesthetics of the state. That is why all hands are on deck to ensure completion of the projects on schedule,” Akinsanya said.
