EFCC indictment of Udom malicious – A/Ibom govt

Daily Trust - - NEWS - From Iniabasi Umo, Uyo

The Akwa Ibom Government has described as malicious, the indictment of Governor Udom Emmanuel by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission over the purported withdrawal of N1.7 bn from the state’s treasury.

The Commissioner for Information, Charles Udoh, in a statement yesterday, said the government would not be distracted by what he called a “poorly scripted drama by the EFCC”.

He stated the state government would continue to do all within the ambits of the law to protect the integrity of governance.

He said the state government had instituted a legal proceeding against the EFCC at the Federal High Court, Uyo and would remain fervent in its determination not to be dragged into a public discourse on a matter “that is patently subjudice.”
