2019: Dickson warns police against partisanship

Daily Trust - - NEWS - From Bassey Willie, Yenagoa

Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State has urged the officers of the Nigerian Police Force not to succumb to the will of politicians during the 2019 general elections.

The governor made the call yesterday while receiving the new Commissioner of Police in the state, Joseph Mukan. He said the country’s security architecture was too critical an institution to allow itself to be manipulated by those he described as “lazy politicians who have failed to interface with the electorate.”

Dickson urged the new police commissioner to uphold the integrity of the Force and exhibit a high sense of professionalism in the discharge of his duties.

The Commissioner of Police said his mission was to protect lives and property in the state.
