Police uncover plot to attack Benue bank
The Police in Benue State have uncovered plot by some hoodlums to attack a second generation bank in the state ahead of the Christmas celebration.
State Commissioner of Police, Ene Okon, made this known yesterday while addressing journalists at his office in Makurdi.
Okon said in view of the planned attack by the hoodlums, the command under his watch had fortified all banks to forestall any eventuality just as a robust security measure to ensure a smooth and rancour free yuletide has also been put in place.
“We got information that some bad boys are moving from the east to attack a second generation bank in the state and as such the command has fortified all banks in Benue State security wise,” he said.
He added that a joint patrol team consisting of the police as the leading agency, the DSS, Air Force, Army, Navy and the Civil Defence had been established to further boost security in all nooks and crannies of the state.
