FG moves anti-corruption strategy to states, zones
The Federal Government has begun the process of moving the implementation of the National Anticorruption Strategy (NACS) to geopolitical zones and states in the country.
The Solicitor-General of the Federation, Dayo Apata made this known on Monday during the opening of the first sensitization forum on the implementation of the national strategy in Abuja.
Apata said the action plan, which is for 2017 to 2021, are documents which serve as guidelines and working tools for all stakeholders.
“It also assists stakeholders to develop their own strategy with sector specification and how best to actualize the full implementation of the National Anti-Corruption Strategy,” he said.
“It is to synergise among all the stakeholders to ensure that at least the strategy is made known to the whole world, sell it to other states, and that is why we invited the attorneys general of states to buy-in to it,” he added.
In his remark, the Acting Permanent Secretary and the Director Legal Drafting in the Ministry of Justice, Mamman Hamza Tahir, called on the attorneys general of states and other stakeholders to continue to support the NACS.
In her presentation, the chairperson of the Technical Committee and Head of the Secretariat for the implementation of the NACS, Ladidi Mohammed said the objective of the forum is to build capacity for stakeholders across the country on the implementation of the strategy.
