He was with friends at the market on the fateful day when the younger brother to the deceased said that he was wanted at home that Sara Suka have killed Babangida.

"They thought it was the Sara Suka boys from another area that attacked him. Immediately, I left and on my way home I met some people carrying him to the hospital but I believe at that time he had died. So, we stopped a tricycle and we rushed him to the hospital," he said. The boy who committed this act is my son's friend until a misunderstanding happened between them," he added.

On her part, the mother of the deceased, Fatima Mohammed, said she left her son at home and went to his friend's house to apologise over what her son did.

"When I got there, I met the mother of Abubakar and I started apologizing to her when her son came back into the house. I then apologized to him to be patient with my son and forgive him. He told me that he had addressed my son to the extent that he will not try what he did again, even if he was asked to do it. As soon as I left their house to go back home, I met my neighbour's son who told me that my son, Babangida, had been stabbed. I ran back home but honestly, I wasn't seeing clearly, it was that my neighbour's son that led me to my house," she said.
