INEC working for PDP - Oshiomhole

The National Chairman of APC, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, yesterday, alleged that INEC is working for the PDP.

speaking with journalists in Abuja, Oshiomhole suspected foul play in the manner the electoral body handled the candidacy issue in Zamfara State.

He was reacting to allegations by the PDP that INEC was colluding with the ruling APC to rig the general elections.

“If anything, I must say INEC has been very unfair to APC. But we just discovered that we have a certain responsibility and the fact that we are the ruling party, it poised on us that we can’t afford to be seen as to rubbish all the situations because if we rubbish everything, then your sponsored question will then be that we don’t want election,” he said.

“As we speak, there are two Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs) from the South South who are virtually campaigning side by side with PDP.

“INEC without giving us any explanations/concrete evidence, went ahead to say we can’t conduct/field candidate in Zamfara State thereby seeking to award without any contest and nullified democracy in Zamfara State. Is that the way your friends behave if they are our friends?” he asked.

“INEC is working more for PDP based on evidence can show. How can they explain that a court of competent jurisdiction gave orders in Zamfara to say field this candidate eligible to contest election, another High Court in Abuja also gave a verdict said APC did not conclude its primaries but didn’t give any order to INEC?”
