Nigeria headed wrong direction before Buhari - Boss Mustapha
The Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, has said that Nigeria was heading in the wrong direction before Muhammadu Buhari assumed office as President and started steering the country in the right direction.
Speaking at the 2019 National Policy and Development (N-PoD) Summit held in Abuja, Mustapha, who was represented by the Permanent Secretary in charge of General Services, Olusegun Adekunle, said integrity is the base of the ideals that define President Buhari’s government despite resistance from those feeding fat from the old order.
The Summit, organized by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Policy Development and Analysis, Ibrahim Bapetel Hassan, had as its theme: “Interrogating the Change Agenda: An Overview of the Achievements of the Federal Government’s Change Agenda.”
The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mohammed Bello, who represented President Muhammadu Buhari, said the achievements of the present government is a proof that Next Level is assured.
In a keynote address presented at the event, the Former Military Governor of Borno and Lagos States, Brig. Gen. Muhammed Buba Marwa, said the Federal Government saves N42 billion monthly from the Treasure Single Account (TSA) which President Muhammadu Buhari implemented when he assumed office.
Gen. Marwa, who was represented by Gen. Yakubu Mu’azu, said apart from the monthly savings in the TSA, the Federal Government now retains unspent funds that before now were unaccounted for my Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
Gen. Marwa said President Buhari inherited a collapsed economy, decayed infrastructure, and economic sabotage but has been able to resuscitate it.
