Observers, APC commend INEC for conducting credible election in Sokoto
Domestic Observers have adjudged the Presidential and National Assembly elections in Sokoto state as free, fair and credible despite some hitches in some parts of the state.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, their leader, Mrs Grace Okonkwo, applauded the Independent National Electoral Commission for achieving the feat.
According to her, there were security breaches and card reader insufficiency in some local government areas.
The affected local government areas were Tureta, Goronyo and Wamakko, among others.
“Inspite of these challenges, the elections were credible,” she said.
She, however, called on those aggrieved with the outcome of the elections to follow the legal way of seeking redress and not to resort to violence.
In another development, the All Progressive Congress (APC), has commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for its adequate arrangements that ensured free and fair elections throughout the state.
“Let me also note the exemplary leadership of our party in conducting a peaceful and issues-based electioneering campaigns, contrary to the abusive and dirty campaign of calumny by our opponents,” the Publicity
Secretary of the party, Sambo Bello Danchadi, said in a statement.
The party further appealed to the voters in the state to come out massively and vote for change on Saturday, March 9, 2019.
