Abuja natives drum support for Bello’s reappointment
Abuja natives have called on President Muhammadu Buhari to reappoint the present Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Malam Muhammad Bello for another term.
The natives under the aegis of FCT Citizens Against Bad Governance made this call in a statement signed by its coordinator, Comrade Yunusa Yusuf, and made available to Aso Chronicle .
He said the call had become necessary in view of the achievements Bello has recorded and his prudent management of scarce resources in the past three and half years of his administration.
The group acknowledged that before now, the FCT minister had received criticisms from opposition parties and the FCT Citizens Against Bad Governance, but after a careful evaluation of his performance, the group had resolved to champion his reappointment for continuity of infrastructural development in the territory.
The statement reads in part, “It is a known fact that FCT Citizens Against Bad Governance had in several fora criticised the FCT Minister, Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, and we will continue to do so when the need arises.
“However, after a careful evaluation of his performance in office, we found out albeit late that he has surpassed previous FCT ministers in various ways. First, his transparency and prudent management of public funds is equal to none. Secondly, his zeal to complete abandoned infrastructures across the territory shows a true leader who has the interest of the people at heart.”
