Alfa replaces Aidoko as Kogi East senator

Air Marshall Isaac Alfa has taken over from Sen. Atai Aidoko as the senator representing Kogi East Senatorial District.

Alfa, who first came to the Senate in June 2015, had stayed in the Red Chamber for few months before Aidoko went to court and was declared the PDP candidate for Kogi East.

Aidoko was subsequently sworn in as senator for the Senatorial District, but Alfa went to court to challenge the ruling.

The case had been going forth and back from Federal High Court to Appeal Court and ultimately Supreme Court on two different occasions.

The apex court had in its final ruling on the matter said Alfa was the authentic PDP candidate for the seat.

Thus, Senate President Bukola Saraki swore Alfa in yesterday, replacing Aidoko.
