Police parade 52 suspected kidnappers, political thugs in Kogi
The Kogi State Police Command, yesterday, paraded 52 suspects allegedly involved in various electoral violence, kidnapping and armed robbery activities in different parts of the state.
The statePolice Commissioner, Hakeem Busari, who paraded the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Lokoja, said the suspects who were arrested from parts of Yagba West, Ibaji, KogiKoton Karfe, Adogo in Ajaokuta, Sarkin-Noma in Lokoja and Ganaja village in Lokoja with arms and other dangerous weapons, have made confessional statements on their involvement in the aforementioned crimes.
Other suspects arrested included notorious kidnap syndicate and armed robbers who have allegedly been terrorising the people of Gegu-Beki and other adjoining communities in KogiKotonKarfe area of the state.
Exhibits allegedly recovered from them included Dane guns, double barrel guns, locally made pistols, locally made revolver gun, pump action guns, live cartridges, rounds of AK47 ammunitions, one AK47 rifle, assorted cell phones and a green Veneto Salon car, amongst others.
He said all the suspects would be charged to court as soon as investigations into the matters were concluded.
