Gamji Members Association (GAMA) has called on the federal government to immortalise late Justice Mamman Nasir by naming a federal structure after him.
In a statement in Minna, the Association paid glowing tribute to the late former President of the Court of Appeal, describing him as a greater leader and nationalist, while urging the federal authority to honour him for his contributions to national development.
The late Justice died on Saturday after a protracted illness at the age of 90 and has since been buried in Katrina, his home state.
GAMA said the demise of the late Galadiman Katsina and District Head of Malumfashi was a great loss to the North and Nigeria.
Dr Abdullahi Bala Isah, the president of the association said the late former Minister of Justice of the defunct Northern Region had served as its Chairman, Board of Trustees and National Patron since its formation.
“Galadima contributed immensely to the propagation of the exemplary leadership qualities of late Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Premier of the defunct Northern Region and other notable leaders through the Association and was reputed to be in the forefront of enjoining citizens particularly youths to immortalize the leadership attributes of the past leaders.
The Association prayed that Allah grant him Aljanna Firdausi and also give the family fortitude to bear the great loss.
The Association promised to release its planned activities towards immortalising its mentor and symbolic leader soon.
