Ramadan: Foundation distributes food to orphans, widows

Gwagware Foundation a nongovernmental organisation, has commence the distribution of food items to widows, orphans and less privileged persons across the 361 wards in Katsina state.

The items being distributed include 371 bags of rice, 350 bags of sugar, 50 bags each of maize and millet as well as 150 wrappers.

Also some selected widows and orphans from Charanchi, Rimi, Batagarawa local government areas were given additional 10,000 each.

Speaking at the flagging up of the distribution, chairman of the Foundation, Dr. Dikko Umar Radda, said the gesture was aimed at supporting the vulnerable ones to enjoy the holy month.

He said, the foundation was equally linking with other groups to reach out to the less privileged.

According to him, the beneficiaries were carefully selected by its local coordinators to ensure that only the right people were picked.
