Be wary of Kanu, IPOB’s plots, group writes US

- By Clement A. Oloyede

A group under the aegis of Concerned Citizens Forum (CCF) has asked the United States to be wary of alleged plots by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and its leader, Nnamdi Kanu to launch act of terrorism against Nigeria from American soil.

In a letter dated August 26, addressed to the US Ambassador to Nigeria, W. Stuart Symington, the group’s National President, Princess Ajibola said recent actions of IPOB in foreign countries call for caution.

Referring to the recent attack on Senator Ike Ekweremadu in Germany, the group said if proactive steps are not taken, IPOB could escalate to another Al-Qaeda terrorist group of some sort, wreaking havoc across the world.

“The Concerned Citizens Forum is consequently alarmed that if urgent and proactive steps are not taken to curtail the terrorist activities of IPOB around the world, the world might be faced with another Al-Qaeda terrorist group in the making,” the letter read in part.
