Entrepreneurs’ summit, awards hold in Abuja today
About 1,000 young participants will feature in this year’s Young Entrepreneurs Summit and Awards (YESA) holding today, organizers have said.
In a statement, the organizers noted that the event which ends on Saturday will also be streamed live to an average of 10,000 others.
YESA encourages and empowers youths to actively participate in Nigeria’s development through entrepreneurship; job creation, ICT innovations, skills development and citizen engagement.
One of the organisers, Mr Frank Nwike said, “Encouraging youth entrepreneurship in our nation will result in the reduction of youth unemployment, crime rate, poverty, cultism, cybercrime, prostitution and drug abuse that is tarnishing the future of our youths.
“It will result in a boost of the nation’s economic state and increase in technological innovations and advancement in the nation.”
This year’s edition, themed, “Making a Lasting Impact in our Societies as Young Entrepreneurs” promotes a platform that offers youths from all around the nation and beyond, the opportunity to come together to discuss all issues relating to the development of entrepreneurship in Nigeria and to recognize and celebrate youths taking steps to make a difference in the society.
“We shall be having a host of successful and experienced entrepreneurs and business moguls from various sectors of enterprise, to motivate, empower and address the challenges that young people are facing in their various entrepreneurship fields,” he noted.
