The Nigeria’s Geography quiz was organised by the Association of Nigerian Geographers.

Professor Tanko said the essence of organising the quiz competition was to catch future geographers at younger age.
He explained the need to teach geography at primary school level to give pupils the ability to learn geographic skills in observation and organization as it will open their minds to value and cherish differences among individuals.
“We organized the quiz because at junior secondary school levels students can begin to have the measurable attitudes concerning people in other regions and other nations.
“These attitudes often develop and prepare individuals to harmonious and symbiotic life that respects differences and adequately prepares towards good citizenship.
The Head of Geography Department Kaduna State University Dr Auwal Abdulsalam said the association has been organising the quiz competition for years where younger generation are given opportunity to excel.
Mr Williams Mbuk a teacher with Zamani College commended the association for organising the competition, saying the school took the first position because they worked very hard for it.
