Gombe PDP gets new exco

The Gombe State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has elected a 39-member new executive committee to lead the affairs of the party for the next four years.

The election held at the party’s secretaria­t yesterday, returned General Abnor Kwaskwabe (rtd) as chairman while Adamu Abubakar Kwami emerged as secretary.

Other members are Alhaji Mohammed Zakari, deputy chairman; Mohammed Mohammed Chindo, treasurer; Garba Nasara, financial secretary; Mohammed Ribadu, auditor and Hannatu Wakili, organising secretary.

Others are Habu Abdu Kwadon, legal adviser; Murtala Dukku, publicity secretary; Inusa Dattijo, youth leader; Rabi Daniel, women leader; Abubakar Bello, vice chairman north; Garba Musa Gwani, vice chairman central; and Abdullahi Dan Gombe, vice chairman south, among others.

The electoral committee chairman, Senator Bala Kariya, said the election was conducted peacefully, which he attributed to the orderly conduct of members of the party during the election.

He said come 2023, the party would take over leadership of the state and reclaim the governorsh­ip seat.

Senator Kariya advised the party to also correct its past mistakes for more successes in coming elections.

In his acceptance speech, the newly elected chairman, retired General Kwaskwabe, called on the members to support him to help the party succeed in the state and the country during the 2023 elections.
