Super Eagles star Abdullahi prays for early release of Dare Ojo

- By David Ngobua

Super Eagles defender, Shehu Abdullahi is seeking for the mercy of God for Enyimba Star midfielder, Dare Ojo who is presently in the den of kidnappers to be released.

The Bursaspor of Turkey player also expressed serious concern over the rising insecurity in Nigeria as he called on the government to urgently provide safe environment for everyone.

The former Kano Pillars defensive midfielder was reacting to recent incidents involving players in the Nigeria Professional Football League.

While Enugu Rangers influential striker, Ifeanyi George died in a ghastly car accident along with a team mate and a friend on Sunday, Enyimba and Home-based Eagles midfielder Dare Ojo was also kidnapped by gunmen on the same day.

Reacting to the abduction of Ojo who was travelling to Akure, Abdullahi prayed for the mercy of God to shine on his compatriot.

The Turkey based Super Eagles star via his twitter handle @ officialShehu wrote “I just read about the two sad incidents. RIP Ifeanyi George. I pray mercy will shine on Dayo Ojo and he will be free soon. Flashing back to my @LMCNPFL days, we can only hope that our government improve all sectors, sportsmen in our dear Country deserve a better environment.”

Enyimba FC yesterday confirmed that those who abducted their player have made contact with them.
