Safex launches 2 digital security apps

A security outfit, Safex has launched two digital applicatio­ns, Safe Protection and Safex Service to enable users access security service through an app.

Speaking at the launch of the app in Abuja, the company’s co-founder, Abubakar Imam said with the safe protection app, one can have access to the Police situation room in the case of crime, Fire service emergency number in the case of fire out break and Federal Road Safety Commission in the case of an accident.

He explained that the management of the company is already making arrangemen­ts to visit the agencies’ authoritie­s with a view to working out modalities for collaborat­ion in the deployment and usage of the apps.

Imam said that the Safex app will enable people access a private security service in the case where they cannot get the service of any security agency at very affordable price.

An executive of the company, Chinemerem Okereke, explained that a second party can be connected to the Safex app to help monitor someone’s movement and when the person who is on a journey can no longer be accessed on the app coverage area, the second party can help call the security service to locate the person in the last location he was seen in the app and it’s environmen­t.

He said the security service exist in Abuja, Lagos and Port-Harcourt at the moment but will be spread across the country in due time.

Another co-founder of the company, J. Okolie said the security personnel were recruited from their various localities and trained, adding that the apps were developed by the company in view of the growing need to fight insecurity and create a safer environmen­t for Nigerians.
