Eid-el-fitr: Tor Tiv urges Muslim community to sustain economy of Tiv nation
Paramount traditional ruler of Tiv, the Tor Tiv, Professor James Ayatse, has advised the Muslim community in his domain to regard themselves as bonafide indigenes and work towards the economic advancement of the land.
Ayatse gave the advice in Gboko while receiving a delegation of the Muslim community led by the Sarkin Hausawan Gboko, Alhaji Isa Musa Maigoro, who were in his palace homage.
He commended the Muslim community for their peaceful conduct over the years adding that their lawful commercial activities were also contributing in no small measure in boosting the economy of the area.
While commending the Sarkin Hausawa over his untiring efforts aimed at fostering peace between his community and its neighbours over the years, the Tor Tiv called for cooperation
on
Sallah of his subjects to enable him succeed.
Earlier, the leader of the delegation, who spoke through Alhaji Baba Salihu, said the homage was in line with the age long tradition to pay respect to the traditional institution during Sallah celebrations.
Salihu said the Hausa community in Gboko had embraced all safety measures to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in the state and was sensitising its people on how to stay safe.
