Katsina agro firm gets SON’s standard certificate

Standards Organization of Nigeria (SON), has issued the Mandatory Conformity Assessment Programme (MANCAP) Certificate to Green Tide Agro Services Ltd, Funtua, a fertilizer manufacturing firm in Katsina state.

During the presentation of the certificate yesterday, the Acting State Coordinator of SON in Katsina

State, Engr. Babangida Mainasara, said the company had satisfied and conformed to the minimum requirements of the Nigerian Industrial standard (NIS).

“I wish to declare boldly that all the tested parameters have satisfied and conformed to the minimum requirements of the Nigerian Industrial standard (NIS) for Compound Fertilizer and the Code of Practice for handling and storage of fertilizer as a prerequisite to your Product Certification,” he said.

He congratulated the company for the feat and hoped that the certification will serve as a great stimulus to large scale Agricultural Production.

Muhammadu Buhari for creating an enabling environment for the local manufacturers of fertilizer through the Presidential Fertilizer Initiative (PFI).

He said the company has a production capacity of 90 tons per hour, saying they have already produced over 7000 tons out of the 10,000 tons order of fertilizer for the PFI project in the last three months.
