We know that among the unreported millions, there are many whose contributions are exceptional and whose example is uplifting. They are the unsung heroes of our society, toiling in relative obscurity until they get noticed like the airman in Kano who returned to the owner a substantial amount of money he found at the airport.

DAILY TRUST wants to celebrate such people, if for no other reason, to hold them up as examples and promote the feeling of optimism about our country.

You know such unsung heroes better than us because they live quietly amongst you. Please send us their names, and if possible the full stories of their lives with pictures so that we can tell the world about them. Editors and reporters will visit the nominees in order to vet their stories and also do a full profile on them for publication.

Send us your unsung heroes and we will tell the world about them on Nigeria's Independence day. Such heroes/heroines could be young or old. We want to hear about those living inspiring lives in your community.
