“The appointment was based on merit following recommendations by the Yobe State Judicial Service Commission and the National Judicial Council,”.

He expressed hope that the new Chief Judge would use his wealth of experience in promoting harmonious working relationships between the executive, judicial and legislative arms of government in the state.

“Justice Kashim is noted for fairness, impartiality, hard work, humility, selflessness and courage in the discharge of his duties. I am therefore confident in his ability to execute the functions of his office fairly, justly and effectively.

“You’ll recall that expressed serious

I had earlier concern over challenges militating against quick dispensation of justice. I wish to draw the attention of the Honourable Chief Judge and the Judiciary in general, to look into ways of enhancing quick dispensation of justice with every sense of fairness to keep alive the maxim that judiciary is the last hope of the common man,” the governor said.

Kaigama told reporters that he would work towards ensuring that the judiciary become the last hope of a common man through speedy dispensation of justice at all time.
