Kano reopens tertiary institutio­ns October 26

Kano State government yesterday announced that tertiary institutio­ns in the state will reopen on October 26.

The Commission­er for Higher Education, Dr Mariya Bunkure, said government has already provided all Personal Protective Equipment needed to safeguard students and lecturers.

According to her, assessment and enforcemen­t teams from the ministry shall embark on tour to assess compliance and readiness of the institutio­ns ahead of the reopening and afterwards.

She said the institutio­ns are all good to go, adding that the administra­tion is committed towards the reopening in line with the COVID-19 protocols.

“Already, we have fumigated the schools and will shared the PPEs to all the schools,” she added

Daily Trust reports that primary and secondary schools in the state reopened on Monday after 7 months break.
