Abdulsalami panel tasks Akeredolu on good governance, lauds INEC, others

The National Peace Committee (NPC) has urged re-elected Governor Rotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State, to repay the people of the state with all the ingredients of good governance, justice and equity.
The chairman of the committee and former Head of State, Gen. Abdulsalami Abubakar (rtd), said this on Monday in Abuja in a statement.
“Through
the expression of your exemplary sacrifice, decorum and courage, you played your part in deepening the culture of peaceful elections in Nigeria.
“You have once again shown Nigerians that your votes count irrespective of the earlier fears, uncertainty, tensions and anxiety that preceded the election.
“Nigerians appreciate your conduct and display of patriotism, which is worthy of emulation,” Abdulsalami said.
Chairman of Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State Nuhu Dauda has sacked 69 of his political appointees.
Dauda in a statement said the affected appointees included five supervisory councillors, five special advisers, five Senior Special Assistants (SSAs), 52 Special Assistants (SAs), personal assistant and secretary.
The chairman thanked contributions to the council.
