#EndSARS: No one was killed in my palace – Soun

- From Jeremiah Oke, Ibadan

The Soun of Ogbomoso land, Oba Oladunni Oyewunmi, on Monday denied that two people were killed in a clash that occurred in his palace on Sunday evening.

He urged the appropriate authorities to investigate the sad incident to bring the perpetrators of the attack to book and avert recurrence.

The first class monarch, who spoke through the palace principal secretary, Mr. Toyin Ajamu, said the attack was perpetrated by hoodlums, miscreants and thugs who disguised as protesters against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS).

Ajamu said the Soun, who was with his chiefs and subjects, including the Minister of Youth and Sports Development (an indigene of Ogbomoso), when the hoodlums invaded the palace, ordered the palace staff to refrain from attacking the hoodlums.

“The dead bodies being circulated on social media were brought into the palace by the hoodlums to cause confusion and justify the attack on the palace,” he said.
