NIS promotes 126 officers in Nasarawa

The Nigeria Immigratio­n Service (NIS) has promoted 126 officers in Nasarawa State.

State Comptrolle­r, Hajiya Zainab Lawal, said during the decoration ceremony in Lafia that 126 officers had been promoted and decorated, which is the third decoration ceremony in the state command under her watch.

According to her, all officers under her command who sat for the promotion examinatio­n passed and have been promoted. Three quarters of them are indigenes of the state.

Hajiya Zainab said since her assumption of office, she has fast tracked the issuance of immigratio­n facilities in a plain and transparen­t manner in line with the federal government's policy of ease of doing business.

The command has embarked on strict monitoring of the activities of foreigners and companies in the state.

She said it has also been participat­ing in several operations aimed at containing criminal activities like Operation Egwu Eke III and Ayem Akpatuma II among others.

She expressed gratitude to the Comptrolle­r General of the Service, Mohammed Babandede, and members of the board for approving the promotions.
