Man, 30, nabbed for raping housewife in Kano

The police command in Kano State has confirmed the arrest of one Sale Yusuf, a resident of Ana-dariya community in Tudun-Wada local government area of the state for allegedly raping a married woman on her way to Falgore village.

The suspect allegedly waylaid the victim and threatened her with a knife and stick before he had a forceful sexual intercourse with her.

The spokesman of the command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, who confirmed the arrest in a statement said the incident happened two weeks ago on 06/10/2020 at about 2200hrs.

He said the woman was returning from Matigwe village in Sumaila Local Government Area, when she was attacked on her way to

Falgore village.

Kiyawa said the suspect had confessed to the crime and he would be charged to court after investigation is concluded.

According to him, “On the 08/10/2020 at about 1130hrs, one Alhaji Iliyasu Yakubu ‘m’ of Matugwe Village Sumaila LGA Kano reported a case against one Sale Yusuf ‘m’ age 30 years old of Ana-Dariya Village Tudun Wada LGA Kano

State. That on the 06/10/2020 at about 2200hrs his wife while coming from Matigwe Village Sumaila LGA Kano State to Falgore Village Tudun Wada LGA was attacked along the bush and the suspect wielding a knife and stick forcefully had sexual intercourse with her.”

In a similar development, Kiyawa also confirmed the arrest of Isyaku Sani and Usaini Muhammed, both of Zaura Babba Village in Ungogo Local Government Area for allegedly defiling a 9-year-old girl.
