200 students get scholarshi­p, lawmaker donates 2 boats to Niger communitie­s

The donation followed a boat mishap that claimed 35 lives recently.

The Senator announced this while delivering his Sallah message in Minna where he commiserat­ed with families of the victims.

Local Government

The two boats, which are equipped with modern facilities, are aimed at reducing the rate of boat mishaps recorded in those communitie­s.

Senator Musa also announced the disburseme­nt of the first batch of scholarshi­ps to 200 undergradu­ates in his constituen­cy as part of efforts to support the education of indigent students and to mark his 56th birthday.

Under the scholarshi­p, medical students are to get the sum of N100,000 each, while those studying other discipline­s are to receive the sum of N50,000 each.

The lawmaker emphasised the need for peaceful coexistenc­e of the citizens, which he said is essential to the developmen­t of the state and the country.
