FG to convert 250 workers to planning officers

The federal government yesterday commenced the training of some selected officers on Grade Level 08-14 ahead of their conversion to the planning cadre in the federal civil service.

The training, expected to last for two weeks at the Public Service Institute of Nigeria,

Kubwa Abuja, commenced with 800 officers, after which 250 would be selected for another intensive training preparatory to their conversion.

Declaring the event open, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Folasade YemiEsan, said: “Officers on Grade Levels 08-14 in the mainstream federal service were invited to apply for lateral conversion to the Planning Officer Cadre. In response to the circular, a total of 1,704 applications were received out of which about 800 officers were found eligible based on the set criteria.”
