Man arraigned over breach of peace

A 31-year-old man, Balogun Shared, has been arraigned before an AdoEkiti magisteria­l court, over an alleged breach of peace and public nuisance.

Police prosecutor, Inspector Bankole Olasukanmi, told the court yesterday that the defendant on March 3, 2021, did conduct himself in a manner likely to cause breach of peace by constituti­ng nuisance in a public place.

Inspector Olasukanmi said the defendant did commit the offence at 6.00 p.m at Ilupeju-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

According to him, the offence is punishable under Section 249 (d) of the criminal code, Laws of Ekiti State, 2021.

Counsel to the defendant, Barrister Sunday Balogun, urged the court to grant his client bail, promising that he would not jump bail.

The magistrate, Mr. Abdulhamid Lawal, granted bail of N50,000 in like sum with one surety. He adjourned the case until July 26, 2021, for hearing.
