Labour suspends 3 weeks old strike in Nasarawa

-

Nasarawa State organised labour has suspended the three weeks’ strike action after Governor Abdullahi Sule conceded to their demands.

The State Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), Yusuf Iya, announced the suspension of the industrial action.

Iya said the government had agreed to pay pending promotion arrears, ensure full implementation of minimum wage and pay August arrears with immediate effect.

He further stated that the state government had agreed not to victimise any workers who participated in the strike action.

The NLC boss directed all workers in the state to resume work with immediate effect.

Our correspondent reports that the organised labour had, on June 15, embarked on strike over poor welfare.
