Police nab robber with army camouflage

Operatives of Operation Puff Adder II of the Bayelsa State Police Command have arrested a suspected armed robber, Teke Kolokol, in possession of a locally made pistol in Ayama road, Famgbe community in Yenagoa LGA.

Police spokesman SP Asinim Butswat said in a statement on Tuesday in Yenagoa that police operatives also recovered a locally made pistol, eight cartridges, illicit drugs and an Army camouflage bullet proof vest from the suspect.

Butswat said: “A search was conducted in his house where an Army camouflage bullet proof vest was also recovered.

“The suspect is cooperatin­g with the police and he will soon appear in court at the conclusion of investigat­ion,” he said.

He also advised the residents of the state to always volunteer informatio­n that will assist the police in arresting criminals in the state.
